My name was one of 6 names representing a National Coalition of Black Pastors and Christian Leaders including over 25,000 Ministries/Churches which include
over 3 million laity in the United States.
It is very important that all of us to respect the fact that all people deserve to be respected! Just because someone does not agree with a person, does not mean that person hates them! For example, people that are religious, should not disrespect the Constitutional right of others to believe in a God or not to believe in a God!
Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 37, Amici Curiae the National Coalition of Black Pastors and Christian Leaders respectfully submit this brief requesting that the Court uphold the State of Utah’s definition of marriage, Article 1, § 29, as constitutional.1 Amici previously were involved in the submission of an amicus brief in support of the State of Michigan to uphold the constitutionality of the State’s ability to define marriage as being between one man and one woman. That case is currently pending before the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. DeBoer v. Synder, No. 14-1341 (6th Cir.).
